    The Bedford Hours is a French late medieval book of dates to the early fifteenth century (c. –30); some of its miniatures, including the portraits of the Duke and Duchess of Bedford, have been attributed to the Bedford Master and his workshop in Paris. The Duke and Duchess of Bedford gave the book to their nephew Henry VI in It is in the British Library, catalogued as Add. Bedford County was formed from Lunenburg County by an act passed , to take effect on 10 May , with the seat of government to be the community of New London. The County was named Bedford, in honor of John Russell, the fourth Duke of Bedford, who was Secretary of State of Great Britain at the time.
